About
My passion for music production began when I was around 20. I found an old tape recorder at the local Salvos and was fascinated by it. I started recording single-track guitar demos and was amazed that sounds could be captured on such a strange medium. However, I was limited by the fact that this machine only had two tracks, so I bought myself a Yamaha MT8X eight-track cassette recorder.
This Yamaha recorder opened up so many opportunities for me to experiment with different layers of sound. I began layering guitar parts, adding bass, recording drums, and using any percussion I could get my hands on.
After a few years of making recordings at home just for fun, I wanted to learn more about audio. I enrolled at JMC Academy to study a Bachelor of Creative Technology (Audio Engineering and Sound Production). Each week I learned more about modern recording, acoustics, and DAWs. I became obsessed with music production in its entirety.
Since graduating, I have recorded my own album and many singles under the name Warbaby, and have worked closely with bands such as Milou Moon, Romie-O, West Wind, Club Camel, LSF, and Cholson—doing everything from pre-production (songwriting and composition) to recording, mixing, and mastering.
I have also returned to teach in the same field and share my passion for audio with upcoming students.
I thrive on making the studio experience as fun and comfortable as possible while striving to create records to their highest potential.
